Kindle Unlimited Good Books Modern Fantasy Post 1

About Last Night (Urban Fantasy Series) (Ghost Hackers Book 1)

T Paulin

154 pages, published in 2014

This book has zombies, but it's intricate. It's about a couple drawn together by their odd childhoods. At the beginning, it's all about how he has her engagement ring and plans to propose. And then the bottom falls out.

Broken Shell Island: The Witches of West Shore

Dalya Moon

379 pages, published in 2013

A magic suitcase carries you to this island where the shells talk to you and the animals understand what you say. You're too young to drive, and anyway, everyone on the island uses bicycles. There are modern mean girls, though, made even worse because they are witches.

Porter

Laurence Dahners

38 pages, published in 2011

Really different magic system in this one. Allie can make wormholes here on Earth, but only very small ones. It proves a powerful ability when saving her family, though. It's fun because of the deadpan way her family talk about her ability, saying she needs to rest because it's past her bedtime, for example.
